I understand that eczema can be extremely frustrating and embarrassing. While I believe much of it has to do with poor diet or stress, there are many natural eczema treatment options available to you. The important thing to remember is to stay clear of irritating chemical ingredients found in many over the counter skin creams that claim to heal your dry skin.

If you have severe eczema, there are no quick fixes. You may already know this after trying everything on the market. It takes hard work to get control over your health; the most difficult getting control over what you put in and on your body. If you are ready to go the natural route, here are some treatments that may help.

The Merry Clinic founded by Dr. Merry Manqun Li, a California Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist., believes in treating eczema from the inside out. Many of her patients who have tried every lotion and potion on the market to heal and treat their eczema, turn to her for an herbal remedy.

Reduce Eczema with Omega 3’s

It has been scientifically proven through clinical research that individuals with eczema appear to have deficiencies in essential fatty acids. If you can’t get enough of this good fat in your diet, it may help to supplement.

Dr. Weil suggests that a person take gamma—linolenic acid (GLA). This unusual fatty acid is found in evening primrose oil, black currant oil and borage oil but is very hard to come by in the diet. GLA appears to have nourishing effects on skin, hair, and nails. Take 500 mg twice a day and expect to wait six to eight weeks to see results.

Shirley Lipschutz-Robinson of Shirley’s Wellness Café, who suffered from painful eczema also believes that omega 3’s were a large part of her recovery. Her son’s pediatrition believed that her eczema was caused by leaky gut syndrome and a deficiency of omega 3’s and suggested she take 2 to 3 Tbs. of flax oil daily and with that, she saw a dramatic improvement. She is also a proponent of a raw food diet and claims that it changed her health drastically.

Healing Eczema with Diet

There are many foods that trigger eczema from the inside however it’s even more important to know which foods can heal and detox your body from the inside. There are hundreds of books on the topic but you may need a little coaching. It’s not easy to change your diet and this is where Eczema Natural Healing can help.

You may need a coach to guide you in sticking with a healthy diet as described at the website in the Eczema Diet section. Maybe you need help deciding which whole food supplements are right for you. Relieve eczema symptoms with a homemade cream

And finally, if you have a mild case of eczema and looking for topical relief try a natural homemade cream instead of buying expensive over the counter creams to relieve dry, itchy skin. Here are 2 of my favorites that I found on pinterest.

From DIY confessions:

1/4 cup of oats

3/4 cup of coconut oil

Few drops of rosemary oil {optional}

1 tbsp of olive oil

Finely grind the oats to a powder/flour consistency and set aside using a blender or food processor.

Over a low heat, melt the coconut oil in a pan until it has a liquid consistency.

Add in a few drops of Rosemary Oil.

Add ground oats in the pan and mix until well blended.

Pour the olive oil into the mixture until blended.

Once all ingredients are mixed, remove from heat and pour into a small container. Let it harden for several hours. Love this for dry skin and it was the easiest recipe I could find.
